Release status and known limitations

The Astramar product website is the authority for customer download availability. Documentation must not imply that a build is available unless the exact release has passed its signing, notarization, packaging, provenance, and clean-install checks.

Free-tier Beta posture

Astramar is in a controlled Free-tier Beta. Near-term public distribution is a Developer ID signed and notarized direct download via the website release record. Public download stays closed until an exact asset completes signing, notarization, stapling, Gatekeeper acceptance, and clean-install verification.

Mac App Store distribution is parked for near-term public release and is not the current Free Beta channel.

Controlled cohorts use private install instructions. Repository tags, source archives, development builds, and internal milestones do not authorize public distribution.

Release availability

A download is enabled only when the published release record identifies a verified direct-distribution (or, later, Mac App Store) release with the required evidence. When that record is unavailable, incomplete, or unverified, treat Astramar as not released for public download.

Machine-readable update metadata may exist before a customer package is approved. An update-feed entry alone does not authorize distribution.

Marketplace catalog preview

The website Marketplace pages list planned first-party packs, premium skins, and inspection kits as a browse-only catalog. Status copy remains “Coming soon · Not for sale yet.” There is no checkout and no third-party storefront. Marketplace listing does not authorize a download or unlock Pro features.

Update behavior

Verified direct installations use a deliberate manual update path unless a later release explicitly documents a different mechanism.
Direct builds do not silently download an update, restart the app, or replace the installed application.
Mac App Store installations (when available) use Apple’s update channel.
Your phrase library is stored separately from the application bundle and should remain available across an ordinary app update.

Current customer-facing limitations

Accessibility permission is required for supported automatic paste and direct insertion. Clipboard-only workflows remain available without it.
macOS does not expose a reliable readback of the Services checkbox used by Quick Add. Relaunch Astramar and the source app when the service is missing.
Some destination applications may limit direct insertion. Use copy and manual paste as the safe fallback.
Trigger collisions open a compact chooser instead of inserting one phrase at random (Triggers).
Product Analytics transmission stays fail-closed without a configured first-party endpoint (Personal Insights and Product Analytics).
Hidden, DEBUG-only, experimental, parked, and commercially gated capabilities are not part of the supported public surface merely because they exist in source code or internal planning.

Release notes

Human-readable release notes should describe only verified public builds and shipped customer behavior. Until a verified release is promoted, this page intentionally avoids presenting development commits or internal milestones as customer releases.
