Accessibility permission

Astramar uses macOS Accessibility permission to deliver selected phrases into another application (standard paste or supported direct insertion). The permission is not required to:

• browse and edit your local phrase library
• open the floating palette and search
• copy phrase text to the clipboard for manual paste
• import or export .phrasepilot library files

A denied or revoked Accessibility grant must not delete your library, force cloud AI, or block clipboard-only workflows.

Without permission

Astramar stays usable in clipboard-only mode:

1. Open the palette and select a phrase.
2. Copy with ⌘ Return (or the copy path the UI offers when paste is unavailable).
3. Paste manually into the destination app.

Settings shows guidance when Accessibility is missing so you can recover without guessing.

Grant permission

1. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility.
2. Enable the Astramar / PhrasePilot entry that matches the build you intentionally installed.
3. Quit and reopen the app if macOS asks you to, or if insertion still fails after enabling the toggle.

Only keep Accessibility enabled for the application build you trust. After replacing an ad-hoc or development install with a new team-signed or distribution-signed build, macOS may show a second row — remove obsolete entries so the correct app remains allowed.

Related troubleshooting

If a phrase did not auto-paste after Accessibility is on:

• Confirm the destination app is not on your excluded-apps list.
• Try Standard Paste if direct insert is unreliable in that app.
• Prefer launching the install under Applications rather than a temporary build path, so permission sticks to one identity.
