SeaSoup
Privacy

Your words stay on your Mac by default.

This policy describes how Astramar by SeaSoup handles personal data. It is written for customers and beta testers. Last updated: 2026-08-09.

Private beta: Public downloads stay closed until a signed, notarized build is ready. Optional Product Analytics transmission stays fail-closed unless you opt in and an ingest endpoint is configured.

Local-first library

Your personal phrase library (folders, phrase text, templates, triggers, and related settings) lives on this Mac. The app does not require a SeaSoup cloud account for personal use. Local files are not encrypted by Astramar; protection depends on your macOS account, FileVault or other disk encryption, and your backups.

Preferences and secrets

Appearance and feature preferences may be stored in macOS settings. API keys, OAuth material, and similar secrets are intended for macOS Keychain, not ordinary preference files. Astramar does not have your macOS login password.

Optional networked features

Network use happens only when you configure or invoke a feature that needs it, for example a user-selected AI provider, optional retrievers, App Store purchase flows when available, or Team Preview when configured. Astramar cannot control how a third-party provider retains data you send. Review that provider’s terms before sending sensitive content.

Personal Insights and Product Analytics

Personal Insights (usage counters in Settings) stay on this Mac and are never transmitted. Product Analytics is off by default. Local collection and any transmission each require separate opt-in. Transmission stays fail-closed without a configured first-party ingest endpoint. Phrase bodies, clipboard content, scripts, and credentials are out of scope for analytics payloads.

Diagnostics

Crash investigation uses local macOS reports that you choose to review and share. Diagnostic summaries you export are designed for versions, categories, statuses, permissions, and file metadata, not phrase bodies, titles, clipboard data, credentials, scripts, or customer context. Review and redact anything before sending it.

Clipboard and Accessibility

Templates may read the clipboard when you use a clipboard-based feature. Accessibility may be used for insertion or context-aware workflows. Window-title sharing to external AI services is intended to stay off unless you enable the related control.

Website and email

This marketing site is static and does not use advertising trackers. If you email feedback@seasoup.io or send feedback packets, we receive the content you choose to include so we can respond. Tip payments (when offered) are processed by Stripe under Stripe’s terms; tips do not unlock app features.

We do not sell your data

Astramar does not sell personal data and does not build an advertising profile. Data is shared with a third party only as required by a feature you configure or invoke, an operating-system service, a purchase flow, or a Team deployment you use.

Deleting data

Export anything you need first, then quit Astramar. Removing the app bundle alone may not remove your library, preferences, exports, backups, or Keychain items. Follow the uninstall guidance in the documentation to remove local application data. Third-party providers retain data under their own policies.
